Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin Pie:
Part One:
-Cut one pie pumpkin in half, remove seeds, cover with foil.
-Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees
-Scoop out pumpkin, mash.

Part Two:
-Mix 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinammon, *1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, *1/2 teaspoon ground cloves, 1 1/2 cups mashed pumpkin, 1 can sweet condensed milk, and 2 eggs until smooth.
-Pour into unbaked 9" pie crust. Bake 15 minutes at 450 degrees and another 45 min at 350 degrees.

*I usually skip those two spices and add just ginger

This is a scooped out pumpkin before it was baked... My mom got this pumpkin from the farm... Lol the farmer skammed my mom saying it was a pie pumpkin, but it wasnt! Pie pumpkins make the BEST pie! So with this pie, the texture was not as smooth and creamy as previous pies.

The final product ;) MMMMmm perfect with a glass of cold milk.

  1. Mmmmm!! Looks marvelous!! I must admit, I think we may have been scammed? I'm not sure.. I followed your recipe exactly and pie did NOT turn out as your picture (or how I remember it) Hmm.. Maybe it's our oven!! Anyways, I refuse to give up. Great post. I love pumpkin!

  2. NO!!! I did not scam you Luba! Trust me, I'm not like that!! I would never do that. So it's a mystery to me, honestly. Lesya Luk does the same types of pies, and they always turn out delicious, maybe she has a good recipe to share :)

  4. I just reread my 1st comment and see how you might have thought I was talking about you scamming me! Silly me, I should've written "I think we may have been scammed too?" As in, the farmers sold us the wrong pumpkin for the sake of selling them and made it seem like they're "just find for baking" which is why the pie might keep turning into a big ole flop over and over. You have been a great help (along with many youtube videos) but we're due for a new oven so that may also be the culprit ;)

  5. Oh!! HAHA!! Lol yeah... I see now :D silly me, I knew you wouldn't say that :) haha, yeah safest pick is to buy the pumpkin @ the grocery store where it specifically states that it is a pie pumpkin.. as a matter of fact I got this repipe from a little sticker on a pie pumpkin when we bought it at Wegmans last year :) it turned out to be a precious little sticker :)

  6. LOL!!! Soo true! Haha! Although I think I'll continue taking the risk and buying from the market!! ;) Hehe.. but actually, that sticker recipe is almost identical to many other recipes online and on youtube.. I think with anything, you just need to keep on trying out the recipes until you master them with your own little twist ;)
